While it was cumbersome and inefficient to achieve these requirements with the existing system, the client wanted to migrate to a new ecommerce platform. They opted for SAP Commerce Cloud — an enterprise-grade solution built to handle high-traffic demands.

Solution

Challenges
Optimizing data import efficiency
Manual data entry was holding back operations and causing frequent errors. We tackled this by leveraging Cloud Hot Folders, a SAP Commerce Cloud feature, that imports data from CSV files through ImPex into the database. This eliminated manual effort, reduced errors, and improved inventory accuracy.
Improving order management and documentation
Given the business’s unique requirements, every order needed to be accompanied by documents in a specific format. Previously, managers had to generate these documents manually — a time-consuming process that slowed down operations and created inefficiencies in processing and record-keeping.
To eliminate manual effort and streamline workflows, we implemented an automated PDF generation system. Now, every order is instantly recorded in the required format, reducing processing time, improving accuracy, and ensuring seamless order tracking and compliance.
Streamlining back-office quote management
Managing quotes in the client’s back-office used to be a tedious, multi-step process. If a manager adjusted a quote, for example, by adding a product, nothing happened automatically. Performing related operations, such as updating inventory or syncing data across the entire ecommerce ecosystem had to be done manually.
We transformed this fragmented workflow into a one-click automated process. With our modifications, a single action performed within a quote now triggers a real-time cascade of related updates. This not only eliminates errors but also ensures efficiency and accuracy at scale, empowering managers to focus on high-value tasks instead of manual updates.
